Signals | Custom Signal Accessories

This section has additional accessories that are related to signaling.or lighting.  These will add that extra touch of detail to enhance your layout and make it look more complete.  These are all in O-Scale.  

Many of these are custom productions and may not be available at the present time.  Check back for new availability.  

AWS-1 ADVANCED WARNING SIGNS

These are the familiar signs you will find along the highway warning you when approaching a railroad grade crossing.  These are modeled in exact scale size with the scale sign post used on most highway signs today.  The post actually has holes a scale 1 inch apart.  (2/pk)

WPS-1 WHISTLE POST SIGNS

These signs are not a familiar as the one above.  These are used on the railroad to warn the engineer when approaching a grade crossing.  It reminds the engineer to begin the LONG, LONG, SHORT, LONG whistle sequence. 

These model a universal type that can be used on any railroad.  These are modeled in exact scale size with the scale sign post used on most highway signs today.  The post actually has holes a scale 1 inch apart.  (2/pk)

SC-1 SINGLE SIDED RELAY CABINATE

The railroad would use these to house the electronics that controlled a limited number of signals.  One example would be a grade crossing with no other signals than the grade crossing signals.

Some parts are now unavailable so production of the SC-1 has temporarily stopped.

SC-2 DOUBLE SIDED RELAY CABINATE

This would be the same as above, just a different variety

SC=3 INSTRUMENT HOUSE KIT w/LIGHT

This would be used to house the electronics for a larger number of signals. These are frequently used where there are home signals at a control point.  These are also used when you have both home or block signals and grade crossing signals.  This is a kit and does require assembly.

Some parts are now unavailable so production of the SC-3 has temporarily stopped.

FL-4 MODERN FLOOD LIGHT

These lights can be seen on interstate highways at rest areas and busy exits.  They are also used in large rail yards.  They come with 4 lights (bulbs) and are a scale 84 feet tall.

BT-1 BRACKETED TOWER

With new regulation of the railroads came the ability to signal both tracks of a double track main line from the right.  This allowed the railroads to use a bracketed tower instead of a complete bridge.  This became a less expensive way to signal busy routes and maintain the extra signal viability for a greater distance.

These beautiful signal towers are now available in O-Scale on a very limited basis from Custom Signals.  These are all individually hand crafted from solid brass here in the USA.  Each includes a scale mesh platform, railings, signal ladders, tower ladder and simulated concrete foundation.  The cost of the signals, mounting and repainting will be additional.  Call Custom Signals for a final price.

BRIDGE-5 CONRAIL STYLE CANTILEVER SIGNAL BRIDGE

This unique cantilever bridge was originally produced for Conrail.  It was installed on the old PRR main line near Pittsburgh PA.  It is a modern style using tubing similar to traffic light installations.  It will accept most of the signals produced by Custom Signals. 

This beautiful signal bridge is now available in O-Scale on a very limited basis from Custom Signals.  These are all individually hand crafted from solid brass here in the USA.  Each includes a scale mesh platform, railings, signal ladders, bridge ladder and simulated concrete foundation.  The cost of the signals, mounting and repainting will be additional.  Call Custom Signals for a final price.

BRIDGE-1 N&W STYLE CANTILEVER SIGNAL BRIDGE

This unique cantilever bridge was originally produced for the Norfolk and Western railroad. It is an older style using I-beam construction. It will accept most of the signals produced by Custom Signals.

BRIDGE-6 PRR DOUBLE TRACK SIGNAL BRIDGE

This is a die-cast, scale PRR style double track signal bridge with two Custom Signal's Bridge Signals mounted on the bridge.  The signals are professionally mounted and repainted.  The wires are snaked down the supports and run through the cement foundations.  This bridge is wide enough for 2 tracks up to 5 inches apart.  These will be custom built for your specific application.

You will have a choice of which bridge signals are to be mounted on the bridge.  Check with Custom Signals for which signals would be best for your track configuration.  The cost will be determined by the cost of the bridge, cost of repainting plus the cost of the selected signals for the bridge.  Check the price sheet for more information.
